ADVOCACY THROUGH

HYBRID DESIGN

A grassroots non-profit identity, fundraising platform, and physical merchandise ecosystem built to protect local green spaces and historic residential character from over-development.

When an out-of-scale development threatened to encroach on Highland Park and historic neighborhood corridors, local residents needed a unified voice to advocate for responsible urban planning. As a volunteer creative director and organizer, I stepped in to build a complete visual and digital infrastructure that could translate community concern into organized civic action.

We developed the "Our Voice • Our Trees • Our Homes" brand platform, anchored by an identity system pairing a pine tree silhouette directly with the lettermark to reflect the park's natural canopy. I designed and deployed the official non-profit web platform (Home | Highland Community), structuring clear educational breakdowns of environmental impacts alongside a custom multi-tier donation experience to fund environmental surveys and legal advocacy.

To reward donors and drive grassroots awareness, we engineered custom merchandise combining digital fabrication with hands-on craft. This included custom-developed NFC keychains built using a hybrid workflow of 3D printing, laser cutting, and UV resin printing, alongside custom tees, and other campaign collateral. The complete ecosystem provides the non-profit with an enduring, professional foundation to mobilize neighbors and protect local parkland.
